Garrick was born in the frozen lands of Wisconsin but has spent most of his life as a Texan. Before coming to Substance in 2024, he served as the director of adult discipleship and home groups at The Village Church. He and Bethany have been married for 23 years and have three kiddos ranging from 17 to 5 years old. Garrick has been a PhD student for ten years but thinks it’s about time to quit. He’s really looking forward to being outdoors more often now that he doesn’t live on the surface of the sun.
